O.L. Design

So, it is done. After six months of learning, playing, designing, coding and panicing, Lonnroth.info is completely renewed! The site is called Mutif (yeah, another cheesy non-existent word that came to life by merging the words “music” and “motif”, hence “Music & design”), and with a completely new look and feel, and a design a bit more focused on accessibility, I hope you folks will welcome it.

Since I’ve become completely obsessed with web design during the past six months, I decided to add “design” to the site’s title, and will probably write a lot about web design in the weblog as well, though music is, as it was before, the site’s major subject.

So what’s the new stuff? Well, the basic structure of the site is pretty much the same. I finally removed the “toys” section, since it was never realized anyway. The home page has a completely new layout. I decided to have only the latest blog article there, as opposed to the five latest, since the old home page tended to become pretty long and unfriendly. The about page is completely new, with a new biography and more info about the site itself. The music section is also new, with more detailed discography. That’s the major stuff, I think. Here are some other new features:

• Use of sIFR makes the headlines look nice

• Added access key functionality to the navigation

• Better and more accessible code

• Better IE compatibility

That’s about it. What still remains to do here is to emigrate the whole site to an SQL database, since the html based approach it has now is starting to become pretty annoying to me. But that’s another story, to be told another time. Until then, I hope you like the new Lonnroth.info. And feel free to comment on the redesign!
