Journal entry
Looking forward
A couple of days ago I finally sent in an application for an education programme in music production. My guess is that I probably won’t even get it to the interviews, but you never know. Maybe they like my works. The problem was that they wanted me to send them two songs at a maximum length of three minutes each. I have probably never made a serious song shorter than four minutes, so I had to roughly cut down two songs, which for me feels like a pretty stupid thing to do. They’re not the way they were meant to be if cut down.
After having thought about this for a long time, I’m not even sure if I want to attend the programme at all. I currently have my eyes on another programme which has to do with computer systems, and would probably fit me really well. We’ll see what happens.
I have made no music at all for several months now (the exception being my entry for the competition at datormusik.net, which was not really a serious production). My inspiration is not what it used to be. I have this silly vision going around in my mind that if I learn to play the guitar, everything will be fine, and I will be able to sit down and write great songs in no time. I doubt the truthfulness of this vision, but I will learn to play the guitar.
